Uniview Worldwide have released a new DVD, "Zimbardo Speaks", which shows Philip Zimbardo delivering an enthralling presentation on what he calls "The Lucifer Effect". Using the analogy of Lucifer, God's favourite angel - who then turns bad, Zimbardo explores what makes good humans commit evil deeds. It is one of the most informative educational videos I have seen and one of my students said it is the best thing he has seen in Psychology ever.

The DVD is useful for many areas of psychology including conformity, obedience, prejudice, pro and antisocial behaviour and the less obvious reductionism v holism and free will v determinism debates.

The DVD can be found here on Uniview's Website

This is what Uniview have to say about the DVD:

A room full of sixth form students were held spellbound as the one and only Dr Phillip Zimbardo (conductor of the legendary Stanford Prison Study) delivered the most anticipated of Psychology lectures. Headlining at a recent conference held in London, you could hear the drop of a pin with the tension and excitement in the air that was kept throughout the entire presentation.

Uniview Worldwide, the Psychology resource specialists, are offering a unique opportunity to watch Dr Zimbardo talk about his recent discoveries and also epand on his life's work to try to understand why 'good' people can do 'evil' actions. Zimbardo calls this "The Lucifer Effect", which is also the title of his latest book. This not to be missed material is now available to own on DVD and is ideal for addressing key teaching syllabus topics in your AS/A-level classes to deliver original and memorable lessons.

Content is based on both historical and very recent events, including Zimbardo's experiences explaining the shocking behaviour of US soldiers at Abu Ghraib and Guantanamo Bay prisons. Breaking down the best bits from the two-day conference, footage can be accessed easily for use in your classroom. Find clear DVD chapter headings covering Zimbardo's take on classic Psychology theories of conformity, prejudice, aggression, social influence and anti-social behaviour.

Students will not forget this powerful material!
