How would you like a PhD or Post-Doctoral Psychology researcher to visit your school or college and provide up to 24 hours contact time with your students?

Researchers in Residence places PhD and post-doc researchers (including psychology researchers) into schools for up to 24 hours of student contact time. The scheme is open to schools right across the UK and is completely free of charge. It is an excellent way to motivate your students and get them thinking about careers in psychology.

Placements can be tailored to suit your needs, targeting gifted and talented students or students doing project work. Placements can be flexible, including practical classroom activities, after-school club projects, lunchtime talks, careers advice or support for small groups.

Over 300 mainly science placements were organised in schools across the country in 2008/9, but we’re trying to arrange more psychology placements. The feedback from teachers and their pupils has been overwhelmingly positive. For more information, and to register online, go to www.researchersinresidence.ac.uk or call 0845 365 7470.

This sounds interesting. I think I might give it a go.
